The morning session (9.00am - 12.00pm): Critical Thinking/Decision Making
We need to be able to make decisions quickly and effectively. But how? By being able to access the situation, create deadlines, announce the choice and make sure we are doing what right for the organization.
With this class you will see how to:
- Understand the key points of critical thinking regardless of the issue or dilemma
- Gain a reliable starting point and direction for any issue
- Ensure that decisions are made both timely and with the best chance for success
You will get both theory and practical application for creativity and resolution. You’ll learn techniques to save you time and headaches and that will project confidence among your peers. You’ll get several great tactics and tips that you can use immediately to improve your effectiveness and your leadership.
There will be:
- A workbook for future reference and study
- Time for individual questions and concerns
- Role play to see the ideas in action

The afternoon session (1.00 - 4.00pm): Assertiveness
How can we tell people what they NEED to hear when they don’t want to hear it? Now can we stand up for ourselves without creating drama and/or harming our relationships. By learning how to communicate sensitive issue with tact AND urgency.
You'll see exactly how to:
- Start awkward or sensitive conversations without triggering a conflict.
- Get important information out without insulting or disrespecting the receiver of the information.
- Create an environment where solutions can be found while allowing all parties to “save face”
You will learn how to question, tell and even criticize while maintaining respect. You’ll understand how to engage direct reports, supervisors, clients and/or prospects, all with confidence and clarity of purpose. You’ll be able to get more done and fix more problems in a positive professional environment.
