It’s time to move on—or maybe you’ve been “in transition” for too long. Either way, you need some input so that you know what others see when they look at your résumé.
Your résumé will win—or lose—an interview for you. If it makes you stand out from the crowd, then it is successful. If you are perceived as “just like everybody else,” then it’s time to revise and improve the document that represents you on paper.
Participants will engage in a two-part training session to improve and refine their résumés, networking, and interviewing. Opportunities to engage in one-on-one Résumé Building & Review sessions can be offered as well.
The Résumé Writing, Networking, & Interviewing Workshop will cover:
- Résumé Preparation
- Résumé Formatting
- Cover Letter
- Principles of Networking
- Successful interviewing role play
In this training session, participants will:
- Create a complete and correct résumé, a marketing tool to attract attention, generate interest, describe accomplishments, and invite contact.
- Discover, address, and improve self-marketing messages to provide prospective employers with a systematic assessment of skills related to their specific work objectives.
- Examine work-related skills and be more able to increase personal alignment with organizational mission and goals.

“My team and I recently got the opportunity to spend a few hours with Rich from Improving Communications.
I can be a bit cynical when it comes to a stranger knowing what’s best for a team. Between that, and the fact that this was slated to be a social event, made me unsure of how it was going to go.
Rich knocked it out of the park. We had about 40 attendees and I think he knew us all by name by the end. He had us rooting for each other and working together in ways we’ve never been challenged. He has the ability to think on his feet and create teachable moments from even the most simple, slight opportunities.
