Leadership & Management Development

The leadership training program transforms leaders into more effective and clear communicators. Changed leaders will develop the culture of the organization into a more productive and higher-performing environment that encourages clarity, ownership, initiative, and success.

In leadership training, supervisors and managers develop the leadership skills necessary to move their staff forward to the desired goal.

This session uses the TruTalent™ Learning & Productivity (TTL & P), a 20-minute online survey of an individual’s productivity preferences and learning styles. The assessment identifies the individual’s work and learning preferences for 4 styles and 12 environmental and mindset preferences. These elements affect, positively or negatively, how each individual achieves and performs in work-based learning environments. For example, these preferences affect the way in which individuals concentrate, make decisions, solve problems, process information, approach and complete tasks, retain new and complex information, develop new skills, and interact with others.

This class will provide attendees with the processes required to become more effective as leaders.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Discover Learning/Productivity Style differences, making better use of team diversity;
  • Coach effectively and strategically, increasing employee engagement;
  • Set personal / professional goals, marking progress toward objectives;
  • Inspire greater sense of ownership and ability to take initiative with customers;
  • Empower staff to innovate, increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty;
  • Practice and improve giving feedback with confidence and positivity;
  • Create positive messages, modeling a problem-solving, can-do attitude; and

Coaching & Team Development Learning Program

Coaching & Team Development

The plan here includes two 8-hour sessions. There will be:

  • Workbooks for future reference and study,
  • Time for individual questions and concerns to aid in personalizing the tactics,
  • Role play to see the ideas in action to help internalize the data, and
  • Access to the Improving Communications trainers via phone and e-mail to resolve specific concerns as they arise so that the attendees can provide the best service.

Part 1 – Giving & Receiving Coaching

This module transforms leaders into more effective and clear communicators. Changed leaders will move the culture of the organization into a more productive and higher -performing environment that encourages clarity, ownership, initiative, and success. Here, supervisors and managers work on the people skills necessary to move their staff forward to the desired goal.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Describe specific behaviors and guide employees to acceptable and effective job fulfillment;
  • Understand and apply clear communication principles to managing employees and evaluating performance;
  • Increase morale and collegiality through clear and open communication;
  • Learn how to have the tough conversations required for success;
  • Discover the emotional side of correction and ways to avoid passive-aggressive compliance;
  • Use management tools to foster team accountability, responsibility, and ownership in work; and
  • Develop skills and strategy for coaching others, increasing employee satisfaction/productivity while decreasing alienation, disciplinary procedures, and turnover.

Part 2 – Team Building & Alignment

This session propels attendees to find and implement new ways of communicating value to others, which will develop a praise-based workplace atmosphere, motivating leaders and staff alike. Attendees group will share best practices to improve Internal Customer Service at the departmental and organizational levels.

Attendees will be able to:

  • Address unique leadership challenges in working with diverse people, to gain better self-knowledge;
  • Develop better relationships with each other and learn new and more effective ways to communicate and work together;
  • Understand the team dynamics and use them to greatest effectiveness, improving organizational culture and results; and
  • Develop greater understanding of, and response to, different communication styles.

A 16-hour Learning program, in person or virtual for up to 20 people.


Executive Coaching and 360-degree Assessment

Executive Coaching

360degree assessment is a process through which feedback from an employee’s subordinates, colleagues, and supervisor(s), as well as a self-evaluation by the employee themselves is gathered.

Improving Communications provides executive coaching and assessment services. We use the 360-degree assessments to benchmark and identify opportunities to improve executive self-awareness and performance. In the long run, one-on-one coaching sessions will assist the executive to develop and execute a plan to address areas of performance opportunity.

The purpose of the 360-degree feedback is to assist each individual to understand their strengths and weaknesses and to contribute insights into aspects of their work needing professional development.

Running Effective Meetings

an eight-hour leadership training program for up to 10 participants

Making the best use of time is efficiency. All our work efforts are to increase productivity and reduce wasted time. As a result, the meetings we hold had better be important ones.

Unlike “The Boy Who Cried ‘Wolf,’” our meeting attendees learn the value of what we do. We let them know by setting the correct example. Over a short time, they realize that when we meet, it’s for a good reason. When attendees are accustomed to knowing that our meetings are held with good reason, productive, and respectful (length and content relativity), they’re happy to attend and give their best.

This training will help participants to organize ideas and communicate clearly. As facilitators, you will learn to be more concise and communicate with conviction. You will run more productive sessions, increase performance satisfaction, and open a dialogue with the audience.

Through the Improving Communications Conducting Effective Meetings class, you will:

Mentoring is a positive, supportive relationship, encouraging employees to develop to their fullest potential. A mentor can be a role model, coach, sounding board, voice of reason, counsellor and a trusted resource. Mentors care and assure their mentee that they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges.

An effective mentoring program will help your best employees grow and become leaders in your company. It’s a powerful way to encourage your best talent to stay and lead. Also, it encourages all to achieve results – mentoring motivates people to do their best, stay with the organization, and be more successful.

Attendees will be able to:

Effective leadership identifies and understands what motivates employees. The goal of this session is for you to find out what motivates your staff, and use that to move the organization closer to its vision.

Different productivity styles require varied motivational approaches and appropriate reinforcement. By providing flexibility, choice, support, and opportunities to set personal goals, your staff will grow more to respect and value your leadership style.

Motivation comes in the form of “connecting the dots” by relating tasks to goals, providing clear and effective feedback, communicating sincerely and confidently with employees, and highlighting and praising achievement.

High Potential Leadership Program

High potential employees are identified as having the ability, aspiration, and potential to successfully move into higher levels of leadership. This program focuses on building skills that will enable future leaders to achieve superior levels of performance while exhibiting the ethics and values that the organization desires.

Individuals will participate in programming that will include:

  • Using DiSC to understand self and others to leverage individual styles and approaches to work;
  • Problem-solving using DMAIC for project planning, addressing issues from a critical and analytical approach;
